About this treatment

A body-part name is not an agreed boundary. The same word in two mouths usually means a slightly different area, and the difference only surfaces once the work begins.

So the first thing here is to talk about the boundary: what is in, what is not. What was said goes into the record at the end of it and is read to you again at the following visit.

Method

Two studios, two different devices

Bebek — Infinite Body

  • The device has separate heads, and the manual names each one's mode of working by its own name: cavitation, cooled focused ultrasound, radial shockwave and radiofrequency.
  • The cavitation head works at 32 kHz; the tolerance the manual gives is ten per cent.
  • The cooled focused ultrasound head works at 4 MHz and 7 MHz; the manual gives the cartridge depths as 1.5 · 3 · 4.5 · 8 and 13 mm, the maximum energy as 3.0 J and the maximum working frequency as 10 Hz.
  • The radial shockwave head has a maximum power of 180 mJ and a maximum frequency of 16 Hz; the manual lists five separate tips.
  • The radiofrequency heads work at 10 MHz with a maximum output of 50 W, in pulsed or continuous mode; the rotating head turns at 40 revolutions per minute.

Göktürk — Siesta

  • The device comes with five heads, and the manual assigns each head to its own region: torso, arm and inner thigh, face.
  • At the torso head, an 80 kHz ultrasound wave and radiofrequency waves are delivered together.
  • The vacuum roller head applies suction with negative pressure while lifting the tissue with the roller movement.
  • Radiofrequency, negative pressure and infrared are brought together in the same head.

Session plan

Between visits, nothing helps as much as a boundary that stays put. If the area shifts a little each time, your observation in between loses what it refers to; that is why we write the boundary down and read it back.

Who it is planned for

  • Not applied in pregnancy or where pregnancy is suspected.
  • Not applied to people carrying a pacemaker, an implanted defibrillator or other active electronic implants.
  • Not applied in active cancer or where malignancy is suspected in the area treated.
  • Not applied in active thrombosis, deep vein thrombosis, thrombophlebitis, or an active condition linked to a history of embolism.
  • Not applied where there is an open wound, active infection, acute dermatitis, severe inflammation or a recent burn in the area treated.
  • Not applied in febrile illness or an acute infection that affects general condition.
  • With a bleeding disorder, a tendency to bruise easily, or the use of blood-thinning medication, a doctor's assessment is sought first.
  • With uncontrolled hypertension, severe cardiovascular disease or a circulatory disorder, a doctor's assessment is sought first.
  • With a metal implant, a prosthesis, loss of sensation or marked neuropathy in the area treated, a doctor's assessment is sought first.
  • With marked varicose veins, vascular sensitivity or a disorder of lymphatic circulation, a doctor's assessment is sought first.
  • With recent surgery, an invasive aesthetic procedure, filler or implant treatment, or tissue that has not finished healing, a doctor's assessment is sought first.
  • In severe systemic illness that may affect metabolic load, such as liver or kidney disease, a doctor's assessment is sought first.
  • Where a person cannot reliably report pain or heat, a doctor's assessment is sought first.
