Ultrawave — Waist and Back
You cannot follow this area with your own eyes. So feedback here rests not on sight but on touch, on what your clothing meets, and on what gets described to you. Leave the describing out and all knowledge of the area stays with us.

About this treatment
On a treatment taking in the rear side, "note what you notice" is easy to say and worth little. What a mirror shows stays incomplete, and most people are shy about saying so.
So we carry the burden of describing. At the close, what was done and how the area looks gets described to you; you hand back what touch and clothing let you notice.
Without that describing running both ways, a large rear region cannot be followed from one visit to the next. This page is about that traceability.
At a glance
- At the close, the state of the area is described to you out loud.
- What you notice without sight — touch, what your clothing meets, how sitting feels — is asked about as its own item.
- The record kept about the area is read out to you; it does not stay one-sided.
- The plan for the next visit comes from comparing what was described with what you hand back.
- The service runs at both studios; the record travels with you whichever one you come to.
Method
Roller massage, vacuum and infrared
- The application runs through rotating roller heads that roll over the skin and lift as they go; the manufacturer's manual calls this step "rolling & lifting".
- The head applies suction with negative pressure at the same time. The manual gives the maximum suction force as 8 kg.
- Infrared light in the 700–2000 nm range is delivered from the head; the maximum power stated in the manual is 20 W.
- The device's concentrated 40 kHz wave head is a separate head and is used on body regions.
Session plan
The stretch between visits shows how well a spoken description carries in this region. Done well, you know what to watch for in the days between; done badly, you arrive next time with nothing observed at all.
Who it is planned for
This scope concerns the rear of the torso, and you cannot observe it yourself. We want you to feel free to question what you are told; if a description is unclear, ask again. Whether it suits you is decided together at the appointment.
- If you have noticed sensitivity on your back before, say how you came to notice it.
- If a skin problem or a healing process is under way in this region, say so beforehand.
- If you have had surgery on the lower back or the back, share it.
- If you are pregnant, say so at the outset; the plan for the rear side depends on it.
How the appointment runs
- The spoken starting descriptionWe begin by describing to you the state of the area that day. That way the starting point for comparison stands the same with you as with us.
- What you hand backYou are asked what you have noticed by touch, through your clothing, or while seated. Because you cannot look, "I don't know" counts as an answer.
- The treatmentWork proceeds on the agreed area. Every so often we say where we are; working in silence takes away your bearings in this region.
- The closing descriptionAt the finish, what was done and how the area looks is described. The record is read out to you.
- The comparisonNext time, the earlier description is read out and set against what you observed in between.
Before your appointment
Recommended
- If touch has told you something about your back, come ready to describe it.
- Recall the bag straps or clothing details that meet this region.
- Come in clothing that leaves the back easy to uncover.
- Remind yourself that you are allowed to ask again when a description is unclear.
To avoid
- Do not invent a guessed observation about an area you cannot see; "I don't know" is enough.
- Do not put a new product on this region on the day.
- Do not arrive unannounced if you suspect an irritation.
- Do not treat what someone else thinks they see on your back as the only source; we look together at the appointment.
After your appointment
Recommended
- Write the closing description down in your own words, as you heard it.
- Over the following days, record what your clothing makes you notice.
- Favour clothing that neither squeezes the back nor hangs from narrow straps.
- Bring your written notes next time; the comparison runs on them.
To avoid
- Do not put warmth on the back in the first hours.
- Do not have someone else rub the region while anything feels off.
- Do not take what a mirror shows as proof on its own; the angle deceives.
- Do not begin a new care preparation on this region in the first hours.
When to contact us: If a pain, a pulling or a changed sensation you did not expect persists on the back, call us; describing it is enough even without seeing. If it grows or holds your movement back, see a doctor first.
What to be aware of
- Not applied during pregnancy.
- Not applied to people carrying metal in the body — a steel pin, a gold thread, a pacemaker.
- Not applied to people who have had a heart attack.
- Not applied in cases of epilepsy or mental illness.
- Not applied where there is fever, infection, inflammation, a skin condition such as eczema or cold sores, or a wound that has not closed or has only just scabbed over.
- Not applied in severe and ongoing illness such as cancer, AIDS or a blood disorder, nor in people with a clotting problem.
- With phlebitis, varicose veins, a vascular procedure in the last two months, or numbness in the arms or legs, a doctor is consulted first.
- People on continuous medication such as anti-inflammatories, blood thinners, antibiotics or antihistamines, and people who bruise easily from small knocks, consult a doctor first.
- Not applied during menstruation.
- Not applied to children under seven; above seven a doctor's opinion is required.
- After aesthetic surgery, applied only on a doctor's instruction.
- The 40 kHz head is not used above the neck, over the vocal cords, or in the genital area.
- Not applied on areas where jewellery is worn.
- Not applied inside the ear, inside the mouth, on mucosa or on the nipple without a doctor's instruction.
Good to know
What can I say about an area I cannot see?
I cannot see my back, so how is feedback meant to work?
Through touch, through what your clothing meets, and through how sitting feels. Those are real observations gathered without sight, and they are enough for us.
"I don't know" is a valid answer too. An invented observation does more harm than having none at all.
Why is the record read out to you?
Do I need to know what is written there?
If a record about an area you cannot see stays with us alone, it cannot be checked. Reading it out repairs that.
If there is a sentence in it you disagree with, say so; the record gets corrected.
Is checking with a mirror enough?
Can I follow it at home in the mirror?
Partly. Angle and light deceive, and the same region can look different on two days.
That is why we advise against taking the mirror as the only source. Touch and what your clothing meets give steadier information.
Is anything said during the treatment?
Do I have to lie there without knowing what is happening?
No. Every so often we say where we are; silence in this region takes away your bearings.
If you would rather have less of it said aloud, you can say that too; the choice is yours.
Why are you asking what my clothing meets?
What has what I wear got to do with the appointment?
The back is in contact all day — bag straps, chair backs, seams. That contact frames what you will notice over the following days.
This is not a safety warning; we have no verified source for one, and we do not present it as such. We raise it as a matter of planning.
What stays outside this scope
Can I aim at a result for my back?
This treatment is not planned around a target for weight, measurements or body composition, and for the rear side that does not change.
If your expectation runs that way, we talk about it openly at the appointment.
Options that take in the front as well
Is there an option covering both front and rear?
The category holds a scope that goes once around the torso. The difference lies in how far the worked areas reach; it is not a ranking.
Which scope suits you we look at together at the appointment.
The Fatma Süha approach
When we work at Fatma Süha on a region that cannot be seen, we do not leave the describing to you. If we did, the whole of the knowledge would stay with us, and nobody could check it.
What we write down, we read out to you. A record not read out is kept about you but does not belong to you.
We let "I don't know" stand. Demanding a guess about an area you cannot see means putting invented data into our record.
During the treatment we say where we are. Silence in this region is unsettling and unnecessary.
Frequently asked questions
- I cannot see the area, so how do I give feedback?
- Through touch, through what your clothing meets, and through how sitting feels. "I don't know" is a valid answer too.
- Can I see the record kept about me?
- It is read out to you at the finish. If there is a sentence in it you disagree with, say so; we correct it.
- Are you told what is being done during the treatment?
- Yes, every so often we say where we are. If you would rather have less of it, you can mention that as well.
- Is following it at home in the mirror the right thing to do?
- Not as the only source; angle and light deceive. Touch and what your clothing meets give steadier information.
- Could someone close to me look and tell me?
- They could, but do not take it as the only source. At the appointment we look together and describe it to you.
- Can I set a measurement target for my back?
- This treatment is not planned around a weight or measurement target. If your expectation runs that way, let us talk about it at the appointment.
- Can I trust the device description for a region I cannot see?
- The method section was written from the manufacturer's manual, and nothing was added that the manual does not carry. On a region you cannot see, an invented description would mislead most of all.
- Will the record be there if I go to the other studio?
- Yes. The service runs at both studios and your record travels with you.
