G5 — Legs
Here the feedback is not sampled at intervals; you can give it whenever you like. Saying "stop" does not disturb the flow, it is part of it. How that stop is met is what this page is about.

About this treatment
A question about how you are that comes at intervals misses everything between two questions. And the uncomfortable thing usually happens exactly there and is endured until the next one.
With a hand-guided treatment there is no need for that. The moment you say it, things halt, and what bothered you is talked through on the spot.
That is what we ask of you: say it without waiting. A feeling waved off with "it is not important" never reaches the planning of the next time.
Method
A document did arrive, but it is not the manufacturer's: whoever wrote it states in its own opening note that the machine is known to them from a conformity certificate the user supplied. A manufacturer does not describe its own document that way; the section opens once the real manual reaches us.
How the appointment runs
- The agreement about haltingAt the start you are told you can have it halted at any moment. That is not a line of courtesy, it is the way of working.
- Showing the sensitive pointsIf you know of sensitive points, they are shown beforehand and written into the plan.
- The applicationWork goes on in the area. If you want a halt, it halts at once; afterwards what was going on is talked through.
- Recording the haltsThe points at which it halted are written down. If it never halted, that stands there too.
- What goes into the next timeThe halt points are read out at the start of the next visit; when the same point comes round again, it is spoken about first.
At a glance
- You do not have to wait to be asked before saying that something is uncomfortable.
- Asking to halt does not end the visit; once it has been talked through, it can go on.
- The point at which a halt was wanted is noted; next time that point is known in advance.
- That you never wanted a halt is recorded too; silence does not count as a finding, but its absence is still written.
- The treatment is given in both studios; the halt notes travel with the record.
Session plan
The time until the next visit puts the halt points to the test. Feeling something at those points over the days afterwards is a different piece of information from the reaction inside the visit; only read together do the two make the next time clear.
Who it is planned for
Because this treatment is hand-guided, the moment you speak is the deciding one. If speaking up is hard for you, name that at the outset; then we ask more often. Whether it suits is decided together at the visit.
- If it is hard for you to voice discomfort, say so at the start of the visit.
- If you know a sensitive point on the leg, show it beforehand.
- If this area has been operated on or is under follow-up, tell us.
- If pregnancy is a possibility, say so before the visit begins.
What to be aware of
The warnings in the document that reached us are not specific to this machine — they are the general points that apply to any mechanical massage device. Publishing them as this machine's list would present the general as the specific; the section opens once the manufacturer's own list reaches us.
Before your appointment
Recommended
- Bring to mind beforehand the points on the leg you know to be sensitive.
- If voicing discomfort is hard for you, resolve to say it anyway.
- Come in clothing that leaves the legs easy for the hands to reach.
- If you have a halt note from last time, take it with you.
To avoid
- Do not keep discomfort to yourself with "it will pass"; saying it disturbs nothing.
- Do not try a new product on the legs on the morning of the visit.
- Do not treat halting as making a fuss; it is expected behaviour.
- Do not come unannounced if there is an open wound or an irritation on the leg.
After your appointment
Recommended
- Carry the points at which it halted into your own note as well.
- Over the days that follow, record separately what you feel at those points.
- For a few days reach for loose things that leave no marks on the legs.
- Bring the note next time together with the halt points.
To avoid
- Do not press on the halt points at home to test them.
- Do not take a hot shower or put anything hot on the legs in the first hours.
- Do not set yourself a long walk while something is still lingering.
- Do not count a visit without a halt as the better one; both say the same amount.
When to contact us: If a pain, a bruise or a tenderness you had not reckoned with stays in the legs, ring us and say whether it is one of the halt points. If the pain travels or grows stronger, that belongs with a doctor first.
Good to know
Does halting disturb the visit?
Is it a problem if I say "stop" halfway?
It is not. It halts, what was going on is talked through, and if you wish, it goes on.
Asking to halt does not mean the visit ends; we say that specially, because most people take it that way.
Asking at intervals and saying in the moment
Why is it asked at intervals in other treatments?
In a treatment that runs through a machine, how you are is asked at set intervals. In a hand-guided one there is no need: the moment you say it, it halts.
That is not a merit but a difference in the way of working. Both are after the same information.
Why are the halt points written down?
What is the record of where it halted good for?
Next time it can be spoken about before that point comes round again. Without writing it down, the same point is discovered anew every visit.
That it never halted is written as well; that too is a record.
If speaking up is hard for me
Voicing discomfort comes hard to me — what should I do?
Say that at the outset. Then we ask more often, and the burden of saying does not rest wholly with you.
We do not see it as a weakness; we take it as a figure for planning.
How much pressure is applied?
What settles the strength?
We cannot give a number as a threshold; we have no verified source for one. What settles the strength is your feedback.
Inventing a threshold would produce a figure that looks controllable and has nothing under it.
Why is the device section empty?
If it is hand-guided, surely the device is easy to explain?
That the treatment is hand-guided does not tell us what the device does. No maker's proof for this name ever arrived.
What we looked for is logged on our side name by name; when the paper comes, we will write the section.
What does not belong here
Can I work towards a figure on my legs with this?
In the way this visit is laid out, no goal for weight, measurements or build appears.
If you bring that hope along, say so before the agreement about halting is made.
The Fatma Süha approach
At Fatma Süha we do not say "tell us if it gets uncomfortable" once at the start and then never again. Said once, it is usually taken for courtesy, and nobody makes use of it.
Instead we count halting as part of the flow. When it halts, we talk about what was going on and we write the point down.
We do not count a visit without a single halt as the better one. Silence explains itself through ease and just as well through not being able to speak, and we do not want to confuse the two.
If we know from the start that speaking up is hard for you, we ask more often. We take that not as a weakness but as a figure for planning.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I have it halted in the middle of the treatment?
- Yes, it halts the moment you say so. What was going on is talked through, and if you wish, it goes on.
- Does the visit end if I have it halted?
- It does not. Asking to halt is part of the visit; if you want to stop, you say that separately.
- Why is it written down where it halted?
- So that next time it can be spoken about before that point comes round again. That it never halted is written too.
- I find it hard to voice discomfort — what should I do?
- Say so at the outset; then we ask more often, and the burden does not rest wholly with you.
- What settles the strength?
- We cannot give a number as a threshold; we have nothing dependable behind one. What settles it is your feedback.
- Is it a good sign if I never had it halted?
- That is not how we read it. Silence explains itself through ease and just as well through not being able to speak.
- Why is there no technical information about the device?
- No maker's proof for this name ever arrived; what was looked for is logged on our side name by name.
- Is it right to come with a figure in mind?
- This treatment is not laid out that way. Let us talk your hope through at the start of the visit.
